Do you have old or new photos you'd like to share with us?  

        We'd like you to consider sending a THEN and NOW picture for inclusion on the web site, and also copies of any old pictures you might have from "way back when."  So, get on up in your attics, or down in your basements, and see if you can find some! After all, it's the pictures that really bring back fond memories, and your fellow alumni enjoy seeing new ones! 

How to get your photos on the Web Site 

        If you have access to a scanner, you can scan your photos and send them via E-mail as JPEG files to the web site manager, Jim Sullivan at:  eastenders.alumni.assoc@gmail.com   Or, if you don't have access to a scanner, you can mail them to Jim Sullivan at: 1340 Bloomingdale Drive, Cary, NC 27511. All mailed pictures will be returned within 2 days of receipt. 

NOTE: When viewing photos, should you ever receive  "THIS PAGE NOT FOUND"   or "THIS PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED" error messages, or a  small box with a  RED  "X"  instead of a photo, click on the  "REFRESH"  icon located at the top of your Internet browser screen to correct the problem.

HARDING HIGH NOTE:  For all you Warren Harding High School graduates, especially those of you who wore the Blue & Gold of the football team, its cheerleaders, or were team supporters (I'm thinking that just about includes all of us former graduates!) here is your opportunity to give something back to your school. There is an exciting new development regarding Warren Harding High's football program. A new organization, "The Harding Football Foundation, LLC" was recently founded in Bridgeport. Led by a Board of Directors made up of former Harding students from our "era", the group is raising funds in support of Harding's football program. Want to make a donation? The Harding Football Foundation, LLC is a non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. Louis Trapasso's Gallery of Paintings of various Bridgeport Landmarks

Artist/Painter Louis Trapasso, an old -time East-Ender, is currently working on a series of paintings depicting downtown Bridgeport as it was in the 40's through the 50's. 

Here are seven of Louis' works on this project, which I'm sure you will enjoy. Included among them are (1) The Congress Candy Store and The Loew's Poli at Main and Congress Streets, (2) Dolan's Corner and the Waldorf Cafeteria at Golden Hill and Middle Streets, (3) The Globe Theatre on Main Street, (4) The White Tower Restaurant at Main and Congress Streets, (5) The corner of Main Street and Fairfield Avenue, (6) Thursday Night Downtown at the corner of Main and Fairfield, (7) Lane's Diner on Broad Street next to the old UI building. Louis, who lived on Smith Street directly behind Newfield School, attended Newfield and Lincoln schools, and Blessed Sacrament Church. He would like to expand this series of paintings to cover some of the old neighborhoods in other parts of the city - like the East End and the East Side. Ultimately, he wants to produce a group of paintings that the city would retain as a visual addition to the historical record of Bridgeport's past, and which would always be available for public viewing.  Unfortunately, Louis says his memory is not sharp enough to produce an accurate representation without the help of photographic reference material (I think we all can empathize with that!)  So, if you could recommend anyone who might be a possible source for this type of material, please contact Louis at his e-mail address: lwtrap@snet.net

• Central High School Web Site: Bridgeport's Central High School's Website has close to 100 old Post Cards of some of Bridgeport's most famous Landmarks. It is a rich collection that will surely bring back many memories. You get there by going to: Central High School  and then selecting "School History", and then selecting: "Bridgeport History in Postcards." Jack Nilan from Central High School would like our group to help him with a historical project. He would like to get an oral history of Bridgeport to complement the Post Card collection on Central High School's Website. On any particular postcard, he would like your comments or remembrances that he would then post underneath the picture. For example, if people worked at the Warner's or GE site they could talk about when they worked there and what they did. Lost your Harding High School Yearbook?  

        I've been told you can contact Harding High School and request a copy.  Harding High has original copies of old class yearbooks for sale for $25.00. They might not have all years available, but it wouldn't hurt to call them and see if they have the year you are looking for. Call the High School at: 1734 Central Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06607, Phone: 203-576-7330. If they don't have your year, you can ask if they might be willing to copy the book for you.
