December 4-21, 2008
Meymandi Theatre, Raleigh, NC

Triangle Theatre Review  recently named this show to its list of "Top 10 Local Shows" for 2008, writing: "Introducing the Jazz Age to Shakespeare is no mean feat, and Burning Coal does this production proud..."

Jim Sullivan, who played the role of "The Sea Captain" (the beard is mine, the dark color is courtesy of "Lady Clairol") is shown below in scenes with actress Ashlee Quinones, who played the lead role of "Viola."

Jim, who also had an unbilled cameo appearance as the "old" priest (the white beard and long white hair are mine - courtesy of mother nature and the natural aging process) is shown below in scene with actress Jenn Suchanec. who played the lead role of "Olivia."

Note: The white beard was shaved off just minutes prior to the final curtain call for the last show. The long hair was cut the very next day. I felt younger almost immediately!

Here's what two local Theater Critics had to say about the play: Read Review
