Richard "Ritchie" S. Grandfield, age 62,
of Stratford, died on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at his home. Born in
Waterbury, he had been a Stratford resident for most of his life. He had
been predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Blanche (Hawley) Grandfield
of Bridgeport. He had served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Grandfield was the
proprietor of Richard's Carpet Service. He enjoyed fishing and boating and
loved motorcycles. He had been an active member of the Royale Order of
South Dakota Buffaloes Motorcycle Club. He is survived by his two beloved
daughters, Kara and Shelby Grandfield, and their mother, Leontene (Desrosiers)
Grandfield, all of Stratford; one loving sister, Christine Ruas and her
husband, Thomas, of Stratford; mother-in-law, Lois Derosiers of Stratford;
sister-in-law, Richalene Soviero and her husband, Fiore, of Stratford; two
brothers-in-law, Ronald Desrosiers and his wife, Judy, and Allen
Desrosiers and his wife, Terry, all of Stratford; one special nephew,
Fiore Soviero Jr. of Milford; one special niece, Michele Soviero of
Stratford; dear friends, Betty Tvardzik of Trumbull, and Charlie and
Gloria Hrynewsky, also of Trumbull; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Interment in Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make contributions
in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT
