Charles Raymond Locke, age 60, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, July 31,
2006, in Mary Esther, Fla. A longtime Bridgeport resident until moving to San
Antonio, Texas. He was the son of James E. Locke Sr. and Amelia "Krause" Locke.
A U.S. Marine veteran who served in Vietnam. A former Bridgeport police officer
and Commandant of the National Association of Naval Veterans, Port 5. "Charlie
Ray" was an avid New York Yankee fan. He is survived by two daughters, Erika
Dawson and Meredith Locke, both of Mary Esther, Fla.; a God-daughter, Nancy
Koutrakos of Stratford; a brother, Robert J. Locke of Seymour; seven
grandchildren, Philip, Shelby, Summer, Justin, Ashton, Madison and Mileah; and
several nieces and nephews. His parents, sister, Elaine "Locke" Koutrakos, and
brother, James E. Locke Jr. predeceased him. A memorial service was held on
Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 12 p.m. in St. Ambrose Church, Bridgeport.
