Patricia (Lowney) Plavcan, RN, age 59, of Stratford, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2004, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.  Mrs. Plavcan was a graduate of the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing.  She was most recently employed at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield.  A devoted animal lover, Pat was known to rescue and take in an array of animals, including wild life.  She is survived by her loving mother, Mary Lowney of Florida; two beloved sons and their wives, Daniel and Cathy Plavcan of Stratford, and John and Denise Plavcan of Seymour; her three cherished granddaughters, Olivia, Chloe and Audrey Plavcan; and her former husband, James Plavcan of Hamden. Those who so desire, may make contributions in Pat's memory to either: Swim Across the Sound, c/o St. Vincent's Medical Center, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606; Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405;or Stratford Library Association, 2203 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615.
