Katherine F. (Piskura) Bastedo, age 67, of Stratford, beloved wife of 47 years of Ronald Bastedo, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 2, 2006. Born in Bridgeport to the late Frank and Anna Piskura, she had attended Saints Cyril & Methodius School and was a graduate of the commercial school. Mrs. Bastedo had fond memories of participating in Saint Cyril's annual May crowning when she attended school there. She loved collecting antiques, especially ones from Czechoslovakia. Mrs. Bastedo enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, especially trips to the Outer Banks. She was co-owner with her husband of RABCO Sales in Bridgeport. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three loving children, Ronald Bastedo Jr. of Bridgeport, Reneé Chapman of Stratford and Rodney Bastedo and his wife, Jacquelyn, of Milford; two grandchildren, Patrick and Heather Chapman; two sisters, Ruth Jelliffe and her husband, Robert, of Bridgeport and Agnes Warmke and her husband, Joseph, of Stratford; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 9:15 a.m. in the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford and at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Those who so desire may make contributions in her memory to Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
