Karen D. (Hiertz) Ritchel, age 59, of Stratford entered into rest on Friday, May 27, 2005. She was born in Bridgeport on May 18, 1946, daughter of Doris Hiertz and the late Harold Hiertz, and was a longtime resident of Shelton before moving to Stratford in 1993. Karen was a dedicated LPN/CCP Nurse at Bridgeport Hospital for over 27 years, where she worked in the Oncology Department. She is the beloved mother of Jeffrey Ritchel and his wife Dara of Seymour, Lori Bourassa and her husband Robert of Naugatuck, and Amy Ritchel of Shelton. She is also the loving grandmother of Leena Ritchel, Richard, Sarah and Matthew Bourassa and Charles Ritchel, and is survived by her longtime companion, Steven Plude.
