Mr. John L. Simon Jr., age 69, beloved husband of 46 years to Catherine Day Simon, passed way with his loving family by his side, on Sunday, May 9, 2010, in Orange. Son of Mary L. Ford of Venice, FL and the late John L. Simon Sr. , he was born on October 8, 1940 in New Brunswick, NJ. John was Supervisor for SNET over 30 years before his retirement. He served with pride and honor in the US Navy on the USS Proteus and was stationed in Scotland for two years. He graduated from the University School in Bridgeport and was a member of the East End Yacht Club. He was a devote communicant of Saint Gabriel's Church. He enjoyed boating, traveling and fishing especially high spirited boating races with his son-in-law Gary. He most recently enjoyed golfing and cherished his cat, Pumba. John was a devoted grandfather and loved spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include his loving daughter, Kendra Montano and her husband Gary of Orange; son Scott Simon of Guilford; four grandchildren, Christian Montano and Matthew, Mark and Drew Simon. A stepsister Carol Santelle and her husband Michael; and dear friends, Peter and Maureen Cummings of Venice, Florida. He was predeceased by his stepfather William Jordan and his wife Marion. Funeral from the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford, on Friday May 14 at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Avenue, Milford. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford.
