Joan (Scalzi) DiPronio, age 60, of Newtown, died Friday, January 6, 2006, at her
residence. She endured her illness with grace and determination and had
unshatterable strength. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank J.
DiPronio. The family had lived for several years in Monroe. Joan was born
in Bridgeport and was a daughter of the late Casper and Gizella Kollar
Scalzi. Joan is survived by her two daughters, Christine Hare and her
husband, Gary, and their two children, Melanie and Matthew, all of
Shelton, Jill Cullen and her husband and John, and their three children,
Emily, Kathryn and Lauren, all of Stratford; and her son, Nicholas Frank
DiPronio and his wife, Chantel and their daughter Mia, of Stratford. She
is also survived by a brother, Casper Scalzi of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; a
sister, Arlene Twiss and her husband, Frank, of Stratford; sisters-in-law,
Joan Leonetti and her husband, Joseph, of Bridgeport and Ceil Lopresti and
her husband, Steve, of Ansonia; an aunt and an uncle; and several nieces
and nephews. Joan followed an extensive career at Textron Lycoming as an
executive administrator in the legal department. She then pursued work at
Ethan Allen in Danbury in the corporate legal department and MacDermid
industrial products in Waterbury. Family and friends are invited to meet
directly at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford, on Tuesday,
January 10, 2006 for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in
Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
