Dr. Henry A. Crouch, age 61, of Northford, died Wednesday, December 6,
2006 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Beloved husband of Jill Jamieson
Crouch, he was born in Bridgeport on May 31, 1945, the son of Mafalda Osso
Crouch of Bridgeport and the late Henry A. Crouch Sr. Dr. Crouch was a graduate
of Fairfield Prep and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University
of Texas in 1968 and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the College of
Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1971. He served in the U.S. Navy during
the Vietnam War and retired as a dentist in Lakehurst, N.J. as a lieutenant
commander. Dr. Crouch started his general and family dentistry practice in North
Haven in 1973 until leaving due to illness in 2005. Possessing a true love of
dentistry, Dr. Crouch was awarded Fellowship status in the Academy of General
Dentistry, an award earned only after a minimum of 500 hours of post doctoral
education. He was a member of the Connecticut Dental Association and a
parishioner and Eucharistic minister at St. Barnabas Church, North Haven. With a
passion of bringing people together, he kept in touch with fellow classmates,
servicemen and professional colleagues through letters, phone calls and in
recent years e-mail. Dr. Crouch, a loving family man, a well respected dentist
and a true officer and a gentleman will be truly missed. He was the father of
Kenneth Crouch of Auburn, Mass. and Carolyn (Alan) Varker of Colonia, N.J.;
grandfather of Justin and Kevin Crouch and Abigail Varker; brother of Robert
(Laura) Crouch and Karen (John) Jasiukiewicz, all of Milford and Judy (Larry)
Cantarano of Parker, Colo. Private funeral services have been entrusted to North
Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, Inc., 100 Double
Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. The North Haven Funeral Home
