Elinor Wetstein Clancy
Elinor Wetstein Clancy, age 88, of Southbury, formerly of Stratford, died on Thursday, August 4, 2005, at her home. Born in Pittsfield, Mass., on November 19, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Dunn Wetstein. She received her B.S. degree from Arnold College in 1938, her M.S. from the University of Bridgeport in 1959 and her 6th year professional diploma in 1961 from University of Bridgeport. Elinor taught physical education at Plainfield High School from 1938 to 1940, Maplewood Jr. High in Bridgeport from 1940 to 1941 and Warren Harding High, Bridgeport, from 1941 to 1960. She developed the guidance department at Warren Harding High School from 1960 to 1973. She was a board member of the Bridgeport Teacher's Association, president and golf chairman of Oronoque Village. Survivors include, a nephew, Donald Carten Sr. and his wife, Kathy, of Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
