Carolyn Ellis Petrovich Hyder, age 58, wife of Richard Hyder Sr. of Success Avenue, Bridgeport, died on January 3, 2005. She was born March 1, 1946, in Bridgeport, daughter of Robert O. Ellis of Shelton, and the late Jacqueline Bepko Ellis. She worked as a secretary for the Bridgeport school system before retiring in 2001. In addition to her husband Richard, and her father Robert, she is survived by three sons, Kenneth Petrovich and his wife, Jennifer, of Shelton, Richard Hyder Jr. and his wife, Michele, and Robert Hyder and his wife Tara, both of Derby; two daughters, Lisa Argraves and Christine Petrovich, both of Shelton; six brothers, Robert Ellis of Hartford, Donald Ellis and his wife, Amy, of Bethany, James and Gregory Ellis, both of Shelton, Lawrence Ellis and his wife, Debbie of Oxford, and Arthur Ellis and his wife, Michelle, of Ansonia; three sisters, Kathleen Warner and her husband, Paul, of Milford, Karen Ellis and her partner, Alice Logan, of Milford, and Marilyn Failla and her husband, Steven, of Shelton; and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth M. Petrovich Sr.; one granddaughter, Zoie; and brother, Darryl Ellis. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 8 p.m. from the Jenkins-King Funeral Home, 12 Franklin Street, Ansonia. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. before the service begins.
