Joseph J. Dargenio Jr., age 61, of Oxford, died on Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Dargenio was born on November 25, 1942, in Bridgeport, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Strossi) Dargenio. Joe was the owner of D & D Landscaping for more than 40 years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing softball. Joe played on teams that won state titles, and in 1991 was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. He is survived by his son, Joe and his wife, Rachel, and their sons, Cody and Noah Dargenio, of Oxford; his daughter, Amber Dargenio, and her mother, Karin Boyko of Monroe; and also many extraordinary people who he was honored and blessed to call his friends. He will without a doubt be missed by all. A funeral service was held April 23, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Cemetery, with Deacon Ian Black officiating. Burial followed in St. Michael's Cemetery.
