Victor J. Miller, age 84, of Trumbull, beloved husband of
Clemincine (Clem) Ignitus Miller, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, in St.
Vincents Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Bridgeport, he was a
Trumbull resident for the past 50 years. A graduate of Sacred Heart
Grammar School, Bassick High School and New Britain Teachers College, he
also received a masters degree in counseling and education from
Fairfield University. Victor taught Industrial Arts at Harding High
School, Trumbull High School and East Haven High School. A veteran of
World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1942, and had
served on a landing ship, tank, under the Navy in the Pacific Theater. A
member of the Knights of Lithuania Council 141 of Bridgeport, he
belonged to the Connecticut and Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association,
and a member of the VFW Post 10059 Trumbull Memorial. Survivors in
addition to his devoted wife, Clem, include two sons, Wayne Victor
Miller and his wife, Laura, of Newtown; and Ronald Francis Miller and
his wife, Allison, of Trumbull; his four adoring grandchildren, Ryan
Todd Miller, Sarah Allison Miller, Sean Victor Miller and Zachary Edgar
Miller; a brother, Peter J. Miller and his wife, Ann, of the Huntington
section of Shelton; a sister-in-law, Ella Miller; and several nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank J. Miller; and a sister,
Florence Isabel Jepson. Friends are invited to go directly to St.
Theresas Church on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. where a Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated. Immediately following full military graveside
services will be conducted at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours on
Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798
Main Street, Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line). The Knights of Lithuania
Council 141 will exemplify their ritual on Friday evening at 6 p.m. in
the funeral home.
