| Comments: | WOW! this site is so cool ! It's great to see all those, Beardsley school, faces again...especially Carole Arnold. I had a crush on her but she never knew it. I would have done better in school if I hadn't spent so much time trying to look up the girl's skirts ....I was so naughty back then! |

Is it possible for you to add a blurb in your newsletter asking anyone who knows someone that graduated from Central in 1965 to contact me, Nancy, at jonesinct@aol.com? It would be greatly appreciated. You never know who knows who? This will be our 45th reunion! |

| Comments: | I already submitted a brief "hello" note to the St.Charles & Fairfield Prep boys of "53" but after reading the other entries, I just had to continue with so many old great memories of the East Side in Bridgeport. We lived on the corner of Brook & Pearl, one block behind the big Russian Church. My buddies & I used to cook potatoes behind the AP, movies on Saturdays (all day for 14cents), jump bushes & trees all along Brooks St.. I used to work at Louie Licamelle's drug store up on Boston Ave. across from the "Green". He gave me a free pint of ice cream every Sunday; wow, what a bonus! That C&RL bus line was our means to the rest of the world! And yes, I do remember the"junk man" with his horse & wagon going around the East Side. Yes, we went into the Rexall drug store across from St.Charles Church & also Golden's drug store a few blocks up East Main St. Wow, what memories; I'll stop for now. This has been so much fun recalling East Side memories. I hope children around the country hav |

| Comments: | I was trying to find a copy of the 1955 Harding yearbook when I surfed into this great site. Ex-Yellow Mill Village (Court F), and ex Waltersville, graduating in 1949. Went to Harding for two years, then moved to the west side, graduating Bassick. Court F was on the corner of Hamilton and Hallett...poor in finances, but as youngsters with limited resources, a very rich environment to grow in...all day at no-batteries-required play with kids from all types of families. Impossible to call out a single, top memory, but don't we all remember walking, walking, walking--to the A&P or to the movies on Esat Main, up the hill to Harding, downtown for Thursday night shopping, over to Pleasure Beach to fish the pier, and sometimes to Beardsley for a swim. If the walk was just too much, it was that rickety old bladder-busting Barnum and State bus line that got us across town. Ayyy, something to be said for life on the dear old East Side. |

Myself, Jim Lyons, "Bones" Uliano, and others from Brooks St. used to play in the back yard on weekends, dipping our hands into the melted wax machine, building forts in the pencil stock, and hiding out in the old boiler (or whatever it was). | Comments: | I'm researching an old film, THE CREEPING TERROR, produced, directed, and starring former Bridgeport resident Arthur N. White. White was born around 1938 and grew up in Bridgeport. His mother, Florence (Handy) White, lived in Father Panik village. He had a sister named Charlotte, and a brother (possibly named John). In the mid-1950s he married Lois Whittlesey and moved to California. He later made a film called STREET FIGHTER (1959), and filmed at least a few sequences in Bridgeport. The film had an opening in Bridgeport, with some degree of fanfare surrounding it. He later married another Bridgeport girl, Barbara Wheeler. She later moved back to Bridgeport. He died in the 1970s. Can anyone help me find more information about Arthur White, some of his former wives, or his activities in Bridgeport, or the film STREET FIGHTER being filmed in Bridgeport, or its opening? I'm writing an article about White and his films. |

| Comments: | Calling on all Waltersville Graduates or neighbors of Waltersville! Please pass on to your e-mail buddies. I attended Waltersville School when I first came from Puerto Rico, back in the 1950's. I am quite sure that many of your moms, dads, brothers or sisters also attended Waltersville. It has fond memories. And most important, History. History! Why take it away? Today, a new school is being built to house our students. It is great that our children will have a new facility. However, the sad news is that someone wants to change the name. This is not a new school. Waltersville School has a lot of history behind it. Then, why change the name? I am requesting your help. I need you to help in writing letters to the Board of Education members and the Superintendent requesting that the name of the school remain the same. WALTERSVILLE! Any questions please get in touch with me. Together we can make a difference! Si, se puede! Yes, we can! Thank y |

| Comments: | (cont. from above) I heard from Earl Hazel, who lived on William St. He's retired from the military and lives in the Carolinas. We used to work on cars in his back yard. I wonder if anyone has heard from Joe Smith (we called him Joe Sniff), Bob MacLoed, Bobby Stott? Also, doe's anyone know of Barbara Skinner? I believe she graduated from Harding around 1961. My best regards to all and my thanks to Jim Sullivan for a great site! John Alfonso, Calhoun Avenue, Thorme St. and beyond |

| Comments: | Hello all, I stumbled on this site a while back. I grew up in the Hollow and my family moved to the North end while I was still at St. Augustine's. I went to Bullard-Havens (Auto shop) and would have graduated in '61 if I'd behaved myself but that's another story. At any rate I graduated from Central in '63 and left for California the following week to meet up with Alton Kelley, Bob Brockett, Bill Ness, Tom Watson and a few others also from the East side who had migrated to Venice, CA. Although I lived in the North end I spent most of my time hanging out on the East side, worked at Skydel's (sad to see Ben Siegel's obit BTW) and have a lot of (mostly) good memories of the area. I recognize a lot of names on the members list and unfortunately a few on the list of those who have passed on but it's great to see most of us are still charging ahead! I've had very little contact with Bridgeport since I left but every once in a while a Bpt name pops out of the past. A couple of years ago I |

| Comments: | I'm searching for any information that could lead me to ANY blood relative of Scott Lewin Kelley, born Nov 14, 1955 in Bridgeport CT. He attended Harding High, maybe around 1969-1970. I know he has siblings, I think 3, the only name I have is a possible "Linda". The reason for my search: Scott passed away from massive brainstem stroke damage. We were very close, we lived together until this happened. The problem is until a blood relative gives permission, his body cannot be released from the hospital for cremation and he will become a county problem and end up in some kind of pauper's grave. He has been TOTALLY estranged from his family since he moved out here (San Diego), which was roughly 20 years ago. I know he had 3 children and an ex-wife. I know he was raised in the Jewish faith. I know his parents are deceased. If there is anyone that might know ANYTHING that would lead me to a relative I would be so grateful. Thank you, Rebecca Frederick, 619-840-1827 or email. |
