Helen M. Carroll, age 94, of Bridgeport, died Monday, May 26,
1997, in her residence. Miss Carroll was born in Bridgeport, the
daughter of the late Philip and Margaret M. Carroll. She was a retired
music teacher for the Bridgeport Public Schools and Read School for many
years. She was a graduate of the Bridgeport Normal School and Columbia
University. She was a member of the National Retired Teachers
Association and the Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association, the Council
of Catholic Woman and the Queen's Daughters and the AARP. Survivors
include two sister-in-laws, Helen F. Carroll and Wanda B. Carroll; and
several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Dr.
Philip Carroll, Attorney Roger Carroll and Francis J. Carroll; and one
sister, Margaret M. Carroll. Friends are invited to attend the funeral
on Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue,
Bridgeport, and at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, Bridgeport 
with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael's
Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call prior to Mass time on Friday. In
